Privacy & Cookie Policy
Last updated 10 July 2026
This policy explains what personal information Compound collects when you use our websites — compoundafrica.com and its COVO and CRAFT sections — how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers Compound Realty Limited, Compound Media Limited and their affiliates (together, “Compound”, “we”). For any question about your data, write to admin@compoundafrica.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you subscribe to CRAFT, make an enquiry, or sign up to a newsletter, we collect your name, email address, phone number, shipping address, the name you ask us to print, and the details of your order or message.
Payment information. Card payments are processed directly by our payment providers — Paystack (for Naira) and Stripe (for other currencies). Your full card details are entered on their secure checkout and are never seen or stored by Compound. We receive only a confirmation, the amount, and a transaction reference.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect basic usage data — pages viewed, approximate location (country/city, from your IP address), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site — through cookies and similar technologies, described below.
Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small file stored on your device. We use two kinds:
| Type | Purpose | Consent |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keeping you signed in to your account, remembering your basket and your regional pricing (₦ or $). The site cannot function without these. | Not required |
| Analytics | Google Analytics, to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. These are only set with your consent where consent is required. | Required (EU/UK) |
If you are in the UK or European Economic Area, analytics cookies are switched off until you accept them via our cookie notice. Elsewhere, you can disable cookies at any time in your browser settings. Our payment and checkout providers (Stripe, Paystack) may also set cookies on their own checkout pages, governed by their respective policies.
How we use your information
To fulfil and ship your subscription; to create and secure your account; to send you transactional messages (order confirmations, your subscriber number, shipping updates); to send The CRAFT Edit and other communications you have opted into; to respond to enquiries; to understand and improve the site; and to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers who help us run the business, each acting on our instructions:
Stripe and Paystack (payment processing) · Supabase (secure account and order database) · Klaviyo (email delivery) · Google Analytics (usage analytics) · Vercel (website hosting) · and our shipping and fulfilment partners. We may also disclose information where required by law.
International transfers
Some of these providers process data outside Nigeria (for example in the EU, UK or US). Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on providers who offer appropriate safeguards for that data.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you have an account or subscription with us, and afterwards only as long as needed for the purposes above or to meet legal and accounting requirements, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under Nigeria’s Data Protection Act 2023 and, for UK/EU residents, the UK GDPR and GDPR — you have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any message. To exercise any right, email admin@compoundafrica.com and we will respond within the timeframes the law requires.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version, with its date, always lives on this page.
